GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas -- Priscilla Janice (Newton) (LaBelle) Winsor, 69, of Grand Prairie, died at her home on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, after a lengthy illness.

She was the wife of the late Charles Winsor. She was born in Peabody, Mass., on Feb. 23, 1939, to Sidney V. and Nellie M. (Hartman) Newton and had resided there most of her life. She was a graduate of Peabody High School.

She worked for many years with the cafeteria department of the Peabody School System. Later, she worked at Analog Devices in Wakefield, Mass., as an inspector for many years prior to her retirement.

Family includes her sister, Phyllis A. (Newton) Cosman of Peabody; her four sons, James E. LaBelle of Hillsboro, Ore., Robert A. LaBelle of Manchester, N.H., Mark S. LaBelle of Willingboro, N.J., and Richard P. LaBelle of Grand Prairie; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

SERVICES: A visitation will be held on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 16 Washington St., Peabody. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy may be made to American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St., 5th Floor, Boston 02210.

Priscilla was a 10th great granddaughter of Stephen Hopkins and his first wife Mary. She descends through his daughter Constance and also through their son Giles. Stephen Hopkins was one of the original passages on the Mayflower. He was also the only Mayflower passenger to have first been also part of the settlement of Jamestown, VA. She is also a descendent of John Proctor from Salem Village. John, her 8th gr grandfather, and her 7th gr grandparents, Benjamin and Mary (Buckley) Proctor, were all accused of witchcraft in the 1692 Salem Witch Trials. John was hanged 19 Aug 1692, his son and daughter-in-law were spared as the Trials ended before execution could be carried out.
A Descendant of the Mayflower medallion has been added to her stone.
