George Washington Brightbill

George W. Brightbill, formerly of Hollidaysburg, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Oakley Webb, at Foot-of-Ten at 4:25 p.m. Saturday after an extended illness.

He was born Oct. 22, 1878, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Brightbill, and married Frances Stambaugh, who died June 2, 1948.

Surviving are 10 children, John C. of Newport, Mrs. Claire Webb, Earl A. of Slidell, LA, George D. of Sproul, Mrs. Isabel Diehl and Mrs. Mary Hoenstine of Claysburg, Mrs. Frances Lingenfelter of Farrell, William L. and Mrs. Helen Salyards of Baltimore, MD, and Donald E. of Harrisburg; 22 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was a member of the First Church of God, Hollidaysburg, had been employed at the East Altoona roundhouse by the PRR, and later by Blair County. He had organized and led the East Altoona band.

Friends are being received at the Liebegott Funeral Home, Duncansville.

Brightbill - Services for George W. Brightbill will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Liebegott Funeral Home by the Rev. William H. Wagner. Interment in Carson Valley Cemetery. Friends are being received at the Liebegott Funeral Home, Duncansville, PA.
