Paul E. Clapper of 316 7th St., Duncansville, died unexpectedly at 8:20 p. m. yesterday, August 30, 1971, in Oakland VA Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a lengthy illness.


He was born in Altoona on Feb. 16, 1912, a son of Harvey E. and Alleene (Krider) Clapper*, and July 29, 1947, in Winchester, Va., married Amy Keiter.


Surviving are his wife, three children, Mrs. Paula Wyant of Duncansville, Mrs. Charlotte Weyandt of Shippensburg and Richard, at home; his mother, and a sister, Mrs. Virginia Trostle of Duncansville.


Mr. Clapper was a member of the Duncansville Lutheran Church and a veteran of Army service in World War II.


He retired from the Logan Valley company maintenance department and earlier had been employed by the crane company and Blue & White bus company.


Friends will be received in the Liebegott Funeral Home, Duncansville, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
