Final rites for V. C. Anerton, 67, were conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Madison Street Baptist Church, the Rev. Elzie Jones officiating. Burial was in the Athens City Cemetery, McConnell-Service directing.
Mr. Anerton, a resident of Marion Street, died at his home Friday at 11:30 a.m.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Lou Ella Anerton; two sons, Grady Anerton, Toney Rt. 2, and Buford Anerton, Memphis, TN; three daughters, Mrs. Douglas Stewart, Mrs. Audway Schrimsher and Mrs. Raymond Anderson; two brothers, James Anerton, Athens Rt. 5, and Alvin R. Anerton, Richmond, VA; a sister, Mrs. W. H. Taylor, Greenbrier; 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
