Edwin was the son of Joseph D. Freeman and Catherine Heath. He married Sarah Beaber 30 January 1873, they had four sons and two daughters. Edwin lived in Lewiston, moved to Buffalo, then returned to Lewiston. He worked "shares" on Emmett Campbell Farm for about three years. Edwin's famly lived in the lower portion of the same house in which the Campbells lived (later owned by the Miles family). Around 1908, Edwin bought the "Hopkins place" by Hickory College. Son George took over the family farm after his father's death. Edwin died of cerebral meningitis.
