Mrs. Bethena Bartlett died at residence of her daughter, W. J. Ellingsworth, Monday, 19th. She was 84 years old and had been a member of the Methodist church for 64 years.
She was the mother of six children, of whom three survive her. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Coffman, pastor of the M. E. church of this city, last Tuesday at 10 o'clock

born in Washington, Penn., Dec. 24, 1811 ; came to this Co. in 1833 ; Meth ;
owns 68 acres of land. Mr. Bartlett was born in
Rutland Co., Vt., 1790. His first wife was
Zerviah Nell ; she died June, 1832. Second
wife was Bethena Babbitt, of Fulton,
Co., 111. ; married May 21, 1833. Mr. Bartlett
was elected Sheriff at the second elec
tion in Rock Island Co. ; sold at public'
sale the first lots in the city of Rock Island
after the platting of the same in 1835. He
died May 24, 1865, leaving four children
by first marriage, and five by the second.
