RIGBY - Joseph M. Brown, 82, retired farmer of Rigby, Rt 1, died at his home Tuesday of causes incident to age. He had lived in the Rigby area for 52 years.
Mr. Brown was born July 17, 1891, at Lewisville, Utah. son of Josuah M. and Jessie Murray Brown. On Oct. 24, 1917, he was married to Elizabeth Maughn in the Salt Lake City, Utah, LDS Temple.
He had been a farmer, watermaster and a river rider. He was a high priestin the LDS Church, and work with the Boy Scouts, He attended schools at Wellsville, Utah.
Survivors are his widow at the family home and sons, Glen M. Brown of Powell, Wyo; Vernon M. Brown of Rigby; Lynn M. Brown of Montrose, Colo., and a daughter, Mrs. Mardine B. Luiz of Redwood City, Calif. He was preceeded in death by a son Killed in World War II, and a daughter.
Also surviving is a sister, Lula Clark of St. Anthony, a brother, Jim M. Brown of Powell, Wyo., and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Lewisville, Idaho, Second Ward Chapel, Bishop Darwin Casper conducting. The family will meet friends Thursday from7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Eckersell Funeral home, Rigby. Burial will be in the Wellsville, Utah Cemetery.
