James Oscar Edwards, 75 year old retired farmer, passed away at his home, 3100 North Sheridan Road, Sunday evening at 11:20 o'clock.

Mr. Edwards was born in Princeville, Ill. May 21, 1856, the son of John D. and Amanda Edwards and has been a resident of Peoria and vicinity for the past 62 years. He married Frances Butler, April 22, 1880, at Princeville. Fifteen years ago, he retired from farming. Ten years ago, he became blind.

He was a member of Grace Methodist Episcopal Church for the past 59 years. Surviving are his mother, widow & five sons: Charles L. Edwards, Centerville, Iowa; James M., Clifford R., and Herbert S. of Peoria; William S. Edwards of Magnolia, Texas; two daughters: Mrs. Edna Sorrell, Houston, Texas and Grace Morrisson, Peoria; and two brothers: George Edwards, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and William C. Edwards of Chicago. Twenty Four grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Wilton Mortuary Chapel. Rev. M. S. Swisher of the Grace Methodist Church will be officiating. Internment will be in Princeville Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel Tuesday afternoon and evening.
