KEWANEE -- Lois L. Headley, 78, of Kewanee died at 1:25 p.m. Saturday, June 26, 1999, at the Debbie Scott Care Home. Born on June 9, 1921, in Burwell, Neb., to Lloyd F. and Florence Gray Wheeler, she married Sheldon C. Headley on Oct. 14, 1940, in Nashua, Iowa. He died on Nov. 24, 1993. Surviving are one son, Dr. David of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three daughters, Mrs. Tony (Dixie Lee) Johnson and Mrs. Thomas (Beverly) Pitzer, both of Kewanee, and Mrs. Patrick (Carol) Hansen of Breese; one brother, Eldon Wheeler of Wyoming; three sisters, Mildred Worrell and Mrs. Dwain (Del) Jacobson, both of Kewanee, and Mrs. Glenn (Patsy) Beall of Libertyville; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was a cook at Kewanee High School for 20 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Kewanee and Illini of Top Notters of Illinois.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rux Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Foulk will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Princeville Cemetery in Princeville.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to her church.
