Funeral services for William Bill Dietz, 59, of Church Street, Rockwood, who passed away July 7 in Roane Medical Center, Harriman, will be held July 9 at 8 p.m. from the chapel
of Evans Mortuary in Rockwood. Graveside services and burial will be July 10 at 11 a.m. in the Oak Grove Cemetery with full military honors by the Roane County Military Memorial
Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. at the Evans Mortuary. Mr. Dietz was a member of the Wesleyan Church in Rockwood, a U.S. Army veteran, and an
employee of the City of Rockwood as manager of the Rockwood Airport for more than 33 years. He was a 25-year member of the Roane County Rescue Squad, a member of American
Legion and of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. He had been a pilot for more than 40 years, and a flight instructor since 1966, and was active with Explorer Scouts at
Roane State. Survivors include his wife, Laura E. Dietz of Rockwood; son, Jeff Dietz of Rockwood; and
several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Wanda Cobb Dietz. The Rev. Robert Lower will officiate.
