Dr J Charles Wilson, 64, died at his home in Rockwood Sunday at 8 p.m. Funeral services
were held Tuesday afternoon at the First Presbyterian church with interment at the
Rockwood Cemetery.
The deceased had been a practicing physician for 39 years and was one of the founders of
Chamberlain Memorial Hospital. He was born June 11, 1869 and reared in Rockwood, studied
at the old Grant University, Chattanooga and later took training at Johns Hopkins and
began practice of medicine in Rockwood in 1893.
He is survived by his wife, 2 sons and 2 daughters, 3 sisters and 2 brothers, the latter
being Robert and Dr George Ed Wilson of Rockwood.
