William Palmer is listed on the pension approval list for CSA soldiers, Bainbridge Post Search Light Aug 3, 1901, p. 4. His wife, Fannie Palmer, shows proof of marriage to him in Oct 1858 in Mitchell County, Ga in her pension application, on line, GA archives virtual vault.. She gives her DOB as 4 Dec 1827 in Bullock County and his as 1824 in N. C. She says he served 3 years with Company A of Hoods Battalion and was on duty by command in Thomasville, Ga when the surrender came. She gives his date of death as 27 Dec 1904 in Decatur Co, GA.
