Alice Hoelderle Bonifas, 85, of Delphos, died at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, April 3, 2005, at Roselawn Manor in Spencerville.
She was born November 27, 1919, in Delphos, the daughter of the late Charles and Agnes (Wrasman) Hoelderle. On June 1, 1946, she married Robert Bonifas, who died March 2, 2005, after more than 58 years of marriage.
Mrs. Bonifas was a homemaker and was active in running the family-owned business, NuMaude's Restaurant in Delphos. She was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, was a Eucharistic minister at the church and was a graduate of St. John's High School in Delphos. She enjoyed, and was very proud of the fact that she was born and lived in the same house her entire life.
Survivors include a son, Jan A. (Carol) Bonifas of St. Marys; two daughters, Barbara J. Bonifas of Cincinnati and Madelyn (William) Schimmoeller of Delphos; Eddie Robert Ezzelle, a grandson who was raised by Mr. and Mrs. Bonifas; seven grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur and Carl Hoelderle, and two sisters, Madelon Balyeat and Mary Louise Hoelderle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, with Father Thomas Gorman officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Delphos.
Calling hours are 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake service will be held at 7 that evening.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos.
