Services for Lavada Kyzar Boyte, of Brookhaven, were 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 30, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel with burial in Easthaven Cemetery.

Visitation was Monday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Boyte, 87, died Sept. 28, 2008, at her residence. She was born to Albert Wesley Kyzar and Carrie Elizabeth Townsend Kyzar.

She was a retired bus driver and cafeteria worker. She was a member of Union Baptist Church and the East Lincoln Home Demonstration Club.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Wessie D. Boyte Sr.; a daughter, Tommie Elizabeth Allen; a sister, Winnie Bell Hall; her brothers, Albert Wesley Kyzar Jr. and Bill Kyzar; and a son-in-law, Mike Page.

Survivors include her sons, Wessie Dee Boyte Jr. and wife, Regina, of Brookhaven, Edwin Dale Boyte and wife, Martha, of Bogue Chitto, James William Boyte and wife, Amy, of Bogue Chitto, and Ricky Dwayne Boyte and wife, Sheree, of Needham, Ala.; a son-in-law, Wayne Allen, of Jena, La.; her daughters, Kathleen Bogard, of Pascagoula, Bontia Nell "Pete" Boyte, of Brookhaven, Theresa Ann Dodd, of Malvern, Ark., Linda Fay Davis and husband, Clinton, of Brookhaven; her 22 grandchildren; her 36 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Ministries in Brookhaven.
