Bobbie Jean Davis, 77, of Charleston passed away September 30, 2008 at Hubbard Hospice House, surrounded by her family.

Born June 30, 1931 in Fola, she was a daughter of David Anderson and Clara Charlotte Happney.

Jean was a Christian and attended Maranatha Baptist Church in Sissonville and Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Elkview. She was a loving wife and dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be sorely missed.

She enjoyed traveling to all 50 states, crocheting, playing dominoes, working crossword puzzles, and listening to southern gospel music, especially quartets.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and by her husband of 59 years, Clarence A. Davis, on May 20, 2008.

Survivors include daughter, Shirley Edens and her husband Jim; sons, Mike Davis and his wife Vickey, Kenny Davis and his wife Donna; and daughter, best friend and caregiver, Loretta Davis, all of Charleston; sisters, Dora Markle and Eula Happney, both of Maysel, Irene Davis and her husband Bert, of Parkersburg, Maxine Lane and her husband Ralph, of Bickmore; brothers, Kellis Happney and his wife Charlene, of Clinton, TN, and Mark Happney and his wife Jean, of Ravenswood; grandchildren, Nathan Davis and his wife Jessica, Aaron Davis and his wife Tabitha, James Edens, Janessa Davis, and Bethany Gravning and her husband Chris; great-grandchildren Owen and Laila Davis; step-grandchildren, David Sanger, Chris Sanger, Amy Shaw and her husband Bryan; step-great-grandchildren, Olivia and Roman Shaw.

Service will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 4, at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville, with Pastor Lee Swor and Pastor Emeritus Bill J. Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Knob Cemetery, Maysel.

Visitation will be 90 minutes prior to the service at the funeral home. Condolences can be sent by visiting www.longfisherfuneralhome.com.
