Born in Fulton, he lived in the city all his life. He was employed by the Fulton Iron and Steel Co. He was a World War II army veteran and served in the Far East and South Pacific. His company was responsible for loading the atomic bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima and received a Presidential Unit Citation for their involvement.
He was a life member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Fulton post.
Surviving are his wife, a daughter, three sons, ; and Jon, Fulton; a foster son; several grandchildren; three sisters, two brothers, and several nieces and nephews.
