Frederick F. Thumm of North Liberty died July 28. He was born in Woodbury, Morrow county, Ohio October 29, 1829. He was married to Lucinda Ellis August 29, 1853. To them were born five children of whom four are dead, the only surviving one being James N. Thumm of South Bend. The funeral services were held at the M. E. church in North Liberty at 2 pm Sunday, conducted by Rev. W. A. Smith of Walkerton, the pastor Rev. W. G. Alley, having that day exchanged pulpits with Rev. Smith. He was buried by the Masonic order. A large congregation paid their last respects to the deceased. His remains were laid to rest in the North Liberty cemetery.
