CHERRYVILLE -- Mrs. Justice, 79, of 301 Roy Eaker Road, died Monday, February 9, 2004 at Hospice at Wendover, Shelby.
She was born in Asheville, Buncombe County, on December 11, 1924, a daughter of the late Robert Benjamin and Thelma Graham Hunter. Mrs. Justice was a member of the Episcopal Church of The Redeemer, Shelby, member of various organizations at UNC-Chapel Hill, Greensboro and Cherryville area. Over the years, Mrs. Justice had been active in many charitable and volunteer organizations giving much of her time and devotion to the causes that improved the lives of the mentally challenged.
Sarah was the backbone and light of her husband life for 59 years, the late Charlie 'Choo Choo' Justice, and was preceded in death by a son, Charles Ronald Justice.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Justice Crews and husband Billy, two granddaughters, Emilie Crews Pope and husband Dusty, and Sarah Crews Fowler and husband Jody, and a great granddaughter, Jalie Creech, all of Cherryville, and a brother, Robert Hunter and wife Mildred Clyde.
Services will be held Friday, February 13, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, Shelby, with Rev. Dr. Gene McDowell and Rev. Marie Cope officiating with burial to follow at 3:30 p.m. at Calvary Episcopal Church Cemetery, Fletcher, NC. The family will receive friends at Carpenter's Funeral Home on Thursday from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. and at other times, at the residence.
Memorials may be made to Episcopal Church of the Redeemer Building Fund, 502 West Sumter Street, Shelby, NC 28150, or Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights, Shelby, NC 28150.
Carpenter's Funeral Home is serving the Justice Family.
