He was killed in an automobile accident on Hwy 53 in front of the home of Jack and Mary Bee Whitt.

Tommy Ray Helums, 19, of Ardmore, died Wednesday, May 16, 1979.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 17 at 2 p.m. at Rainey's Chapel with Rev. Wayne Moore officiating. Burial was in Gatlin Cemetery with Rainey's Funeral Home in charge.

Tommy was a 1977 graduate of Blanche High School.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Helums; two brothers, Tony and Tim Helums; one sister Tina Helums; grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Howard Helums; grandmother, Mrs. Lorene Smith, all of Ardmore; any many other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Dwayne Owens, Bobby Foster, Neal Brock, Tim Putman, Ken McDonald and Jeff Helums. [Obituary in Your Community Shopper]
