Fred L. Hess, 67, of Saxton, died Dec. 31, 2000, at Altoona Hospital. Born Dec. 28, 1933, in Saxton, he was the son of the late Thomas L. and Pauline F. (Wenrick) Hess. He was united in marriage to Geraldine E. Lynn June 7, 1953, in Lakemont. He served in the U.S. Army with the 504th Military Police at Fort Gordon, Ga., during the Korean Conflict.
