Jay Michael Salhoff, Sr., 66, of Maumee, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2008, at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He was born to Raymond and Margaret Salhoff on August 11, 1942. Jay was a graduate of Libbey High School and retired from Jeep after 30 years as a millwright. He married the love of his life, Sue Salhoff after being introduced to him by her sister. They were married on Jay's birthday, August 11, 1989. Besides spending time with his family, he was an avid fan of old cars. He always had one in the driveway and loved spending time at car shows. Jay was a member of Oddfellows Lodge 682, Eagles Fraternal Order of Rossford No. 2322, and served in the Army National Guard Reserves. He was preceded in death by both his parents, and his son, Jay Michael Salhoff Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Sue Salhoff; sons, Jeremy and Jordan Salhoff; stepsons, Richard and Randy Staffen; sister-in-law, Sharon (John) Meyer; brother-in-law, Ron (Sharon) Stephens, and many nieces, nephews, and a host of many special friends. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 and 1 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 2nd at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Ave., Toledo, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to the family to help with expenses.
