Court ordered that citations be issued to all next of kin to appear in court 2 Jun 1851 to show why letters of administration should not be granted to the petitioner.
. 179 – 21 Jun 1851. In the matter of the estate of Veniah Fox, Sally Benjamin appeared with counsel Emory F. Warner, petitioning that letters of administration be granted to her. Chauncy Fox, Clarissa Hines, and Caroline Sage also appeared. Jacob Houghton Esq of Fredonia appeared as counsel for Chauncy Fox and Caroline Sage, petitioning that letters of administration be granted to Chauncy Fox or to Amos Sage in right of his wife Clarissa Sage. Further hearing adjourned to 9 Jul 1851 in the office of John Crane in Fredonia.
p. 179 – 9 Jul 1851. In the matter of the estate of Veniah Fox, Sally Benjamin, Mary Fox, and Clarissa Hines appeared in court with John Crane as counsel for Sally Benjamin. Chauncey Fox and Caroline Sage also appeared and objected to the petition of Sally Benjamin through their counsel Jacob Houghton Esq. All present renounced their right to administration and agreeing that administration be granted to Elisha Norton of Pomfret.
Vaniah has a brother, Varnish burried in West Main St Cemetery, Fredonia, N.Y. Varnish also is a Rev. War Soldier.
