He was born March 16, 1945, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, a son of the late John M. Almand and Clara Violet (Autrey) Almand.
Mr. Almand was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was very active and a former leader of the boy scouts and girl scouts clubs.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Earl Almand.
He is survived by his wife, Carol (Duncan) Almand; five daughters, Betty Hulbert of Turlock, California, Clara Annette Crossman of Beebe, Shannon Michelle Dick of Quitman, Cynthia Dawn Almand of Gravette, Arkansas, and Elizabeth Carol Almand of Quitman; a son, Roy Edward Almand, Jr. of Gravette; a brother, Cleo M. Almand of Winnemucca, Nevada; and a sister, Cathy Rapp of Turlock.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier with interment following at Center Point Cemetery in Quitman.
Visitation is Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
