Vale, N.C. - Anne Louise Griffin Scronce, 104, of Vale, passed away Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at the Pallitiave CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley.
She was born July 17, 1904, in Burke County to the late William Griffin and Lillie Florence Sigmon Griffin.
She was a member of First Methodist Church of Lincolnton. She was a secretary for the Charlotte Observer newspaper.
She is survived by her four grandchildren, Teresa Russell and her husband, Jerry, of Locust Grove, Va., Sherry Revis and her husband, Jim, and Patti Hide and her husband, Dave, all of Stafford, Va., and James "Jimbo" Scronce and his wife, Debbie, of Vale; eight great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the E.F. Drum Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, at E.F. Drum Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Hollybrook Cemetery in Lincolnton.
