Funeral services will be held Friday for Mrs. Minnie Lou Abernathy Swanner, 66, who died at the Limestone County Hospital at 1:30 a.m. this morning. Rev. S. D. Lankford and Rev. G. M. Hall will officiate at the Tanner Methodist Church at 2 p.m. with interment following at the City Cemetery, McConnell-Service directing.

Mrs. Swanner, daughter of the late Virginia Hicks and Rev. T. C. Abernathy, was the wife of James D. Swanner of Athens Rt. 7 and was held in high esteem by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband; four daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Pegues, Warner Robbins, Ga., Mrs. Mamie James, Bay St. Louis, Miss., Mrs. Mattie McMeans, Athens, and Miss Virginia Swanner, Athens; eight sons, Herman, Howard, Frank and J. D. Swanner Jr., all of Tanner, George of Decatur, Edward and Joel of Athens, and Leon of Birmingham; four sisters, Mrs. Inez Graham, Texas, Mrs. Babe Smith, Nashville, Mrs. Maude McAllister, Athens, Mrs. Nina Hall, Birmingham; three brothers, Mack of Tuscaloosa, Jonah of Selma and Willie A. Abernathy of Capshaw; 38 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
