HERMISTON - Maxine Ella Moyer-Higley died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006, at Good Shepherd Medical Center. She was 91. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Hermiston Cemetery.

She was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, on March 21, 1915, to Ora and Mabel Brinson. She graduated from Emmett High School in 1933.

She married Clyde R. Moyer on May 1, 1937, in Horseshoe Bend, Idaho. They moved to Hermiston in 1942. He died in 1986. She married George Higley on Jan. 12, 1989.

Mrs. Moyer-Higley worked at the Red & White Grocery, the Umatilla Army Depot, Price's Flower Shop and Lamb Weston.

She enjoyed gardening, traveling and doing craft projects, especially sewing.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; daughter Shari Schneider, and a great-grandson.

She is survived by daughter Loretta Dyer of Hermiston; sons Douglas Moyer of Heppner, Frank Moyer of Hermiston and Roy Moyer of Milton-Freewater; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in charge of arrangements.
