Died, at the family residence, May 10, 1903, of heart failure, superinduced by a severe attack of asthma, Mrs. Margaret Palmer Jayne, aged 48 years, 11 months, 20 days.
The funeral will be held at the residence. Interment will be made in Oak Ridge cemetery.
Margaret Palmer, second daughter of the late Gen. John M. Palmer, was born March 20, 1854, in Carlinville, Ill. She attended the public schools in Greenfield, Ill, after which she attended the Bettie Stuart institute in this city, from which school she was a graduate.
She was married Nov. 18, 1875, to William Jayne. The wedding occurred in the residence of General Palmer, which was then situated on the property at Eighth and Mason streets, which is now occupied by St. John's hospital.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Perry and Louis Jayne; two daughters, Mrs. George Fish and Margaret Jayne; her father-in-law, Dr. William Jayne; three sisters, Mrs. J. T. Matthews of Carlinville, Mrs. Jessie Palmer Weber and Mrs. E. G. Crabbe of Springfield; one brother, John Mayo Palmer of Chicago.
