SOUTH BEND - Felicia S. Kominkiewicz, 90, passed away at 9:40 p.m. on Friday, October 3, in her residence. Felicia was born on March 26, 1918, to the late Frank and Antoinette (Andrysiak) Milewski. On May 18, 1946, she married Leo S. Kominkiewicz, who passed away on December 15, 1984. She was also preceded in death by sisters Theresa, Florence, Esther, Clara, Eugenia and Edwina, and by brothers Ben, Ted, Al and Leon.
Surviving are her children, Susan (James) Lukszewski of Mishawaka, David (Carol) Kominkiewicz of North Liberty, John (Dr. Frances) Kominkiewicz of South Bend and Jim (Beth) Kominkiewicz of Granger; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeff) Robertson, Julie (Todd) Gierlowski, Joseph of Germany, Ryan (Amy) of Peoria, IL, Andrew, Jamie, Lauren, Brandon, Jillian and Matthew; and two great-grandchildren, Justin and Jaime Gierlowski. Special thanks to Stephanie and Kim of Hospice, Darlene Jellison and Mary Railing for the excellent care and love provided to Felicia.
Felicia was a 73-year member of the Polish Women's Alliance and worked at Notre Dame for nine years at the Huddle, at Ball Band and the Century Center. Affectionately known as " Busia " for the last 40 years, Felicia's greatest joy was being a wife, mother and grandmother to the family. She prayed the Rosary many times during the day for each of her children and grandchildren. Felicia had a special devotion to St. Jude, St. Anthony and the Sacred Heart of Jesus. She was a member of St. Casimir Parish and later Little Flower Parish for all of 90 years. She also had many close friends and she loved them and they loved her dearly in many special ways. Felicia enjoyed cooking for people and no one ever left her home without being offered something good to eat. Her house was the gathering place for all family and friends.
