Died, at the family residence, corner of Fifteenth and Monroe streets, at 8:20 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 1902, after a short illness, Silas Wright, aged 56 years. Mr. Currier was one of the best known business men of this city and was widely known throughout Sangamon county. He was born in Pottsdam, N. Y., and came to this city thirty-five years ago. For many years he was engaged in the grocery and feed business, and or twenty years previous to the time of his death he was president and treasurer of the Elevator Milling company. He was also a director of the State National bank, and together with George Kern owned the Hotel Silas.
Mr. Currier is survived by his wife and one daughter, Miss Mary Priest Currier; also by one sister and three brothers, who reside in New York state. The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at the residence. The remains will be interred in Oak Ridge cemetery. IL State Register, Springfield, IL 11-21-1902
