Mrs. Iva Pearl Jackman, 77, lifetime Liberal area resident, died at 3:10 a.m Thursday at Mercy Hospital, Fort Scott, Kansas where she was admitted Wednesday night after suffering an apparent cerebral hemorrhage at her home.
She was born here August 28, 1894, to William Henry & Viola (Aleshire) Jones and married Hiram Jackman on January 2, 1912 at Lamar. He preceded her in death in 1941. Mrs. Jackman was a member of the Liberal Christian Church.
Surviving are two sons; Rex Jackman, Liberal and Ralph Jackman, Independence, Missouri; two daughters, Mrs. Wilma Smith, Liberal and Mrs. Alma Talbott, Rich Hill, Missouri; two brothers, Marcus Jones, Mindenmines, Missouri, Arthur Jones, Los Angeles, California; six sisters, Mrs. Eva Parkison, Liberal, Mrs. Flossie Basim and Mrs. Melva Arabia both of Pittsburg, Kansas, Mrs. Sylvia Blair, Weir, Kansas, Mrs. Florence Burris and Mrs. Opal Burroughs both of California; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Rites will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Liberal Christian Church with the Rev. Frank Loehr and the Rev. Bob Dickey officiating. Burial will be in the Barton City Cemetery near Liberal by Lohmeyer-Konantz Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Don Guyer, Don Blythe, Phillip Munn, Kenny Talbott, Roger Talbott and Charles Pulliam. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday.
