Charles R. Hughett, 53, of 1897N CR 150E, Connersville, died Monday, October 8 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born July 21 1948 in Robins, Tenn., a son of Robert and June Walker Hughett.

Mr. Hughett spent his childhood in the Kennard area and attended high school in Knightstown before moving to Connersville where lived for 25 years.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #1 and AMVETS Post 11. Hughett was in the Army from 1968-1971, serving in Germany. He was currently employed at Cinram in Richmond. He had previously worked at Textron in Morristown and D&M/WCI in Connersville.

Survivors include his wife Janet Flowers Gragg Hughett, whom he married July 2, 1999 in Hamilton, Ohio; his father, Robert Hughett of Kennard; one daughter, LaDina (husband, Louis) Plants of Connersville; one son, Devon Hughett of Connersville; two brothers, Ed Hughett of Lewisville and Dennis Hughett of Knightstown; two sisters, Shirley (husband, Tom) Thompson of Millville, and Brenda Hannan of New Castle; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

His mother, June Walker Hughett who died in 1998, and his grandparents preceded him in death.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 11 at the Urban Winkler Funeral Home with Eric Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery in New Castle. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Fayette County Veterans Council.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 10 from 5-8 p.m
