Funeral services for Mr. W. A. "Aden" Reed of Crockett were held Tuesday, October 24, 2000, in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel, Crockett, with Rev. Steve Meadows officiating. Interment followed in the Whitehead Cemetery.
Mr. Reed, age 88, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2000, in the East Texas Medical Center – Crockett. He was born August 8, 1912, in Personville and had lived in Crockett since 1954. He owned and operated Reed's Dairy and was a member of Countryside Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Modine Reed; granddaughters, Theresa Kay Reed and Kimberly Ann Reed; brothers, Troy Reed, Ivis Reed, Lewis Reed and Coy Reed; sisters, Wilmeth Miller, Della Stevenson, and Mary Chumley; and great-granddaughter, Britney Reed.
Survivors include his children, James Reed and wife Marie of Crockett, Herbert Reed and wife Dana of Shady Grove, Janice Choate and husband Norman of Crockett, Syble Minter and husband Johnny of Pasadena, Glynn Reed and wife Nita of Crockett; fourteen grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Martha Parker of Jacksonville; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
