Carlton "Carl" Sparck, 65, of Colonie, died Tuesday, August 31, 2004, at Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany, after a long illness. The husband of Amelia "Molly" Siiss Sparck, he was born in Yorktown, TX, son of the late W.J. and Caroline Thieme Sparck. A resident of the Albany area since 1983, Carl also had resided in Liverpool and North Syracuse for several years. He served in the US Air Force in the early 1960s and was stationed in Japan, St. Albans, VT, and Hancock Air Force Base in Syracuse. Mr. Sparck was a phone representative with the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance for 15 years, retiring in 2000. He previously was employed by Kemper Insurance in Syracuse and Albany. Carl was an Elder of the Colonie Alliance Church of the Christian & Missionary Alliance in Albany. He was a former scout master of BSA Troop 92, in North Syracuse, for ten years. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Linda "Lin" Sparck of Syracuse and Patricia Sparck Fragola of Providence, RI; and two brothers, Darwin (Rosie) Sparck of Yorktown, TX, and Vernon (Jeanette) Sparck of Weetsatche, TX. Funeral service Friday in Albany. Interment in Liverpool Cemetery, Liverpool, NY. Contributions in Carl's memory may be made to the Colonie Alliance Church, 32 Lapham Drive, Albany, NY 12205.
