She was the daughter of David Irving and Pheba Elizabeth (Callahan) Jenkins. Garaldine married Wesley Culver on 22 Aug 1937 and they were divorced. She operated a vending stand at the Jackson County Court House, Jackson, Michigan and she was legally blind. She lost an eye in a childhood accident and as an adult she developed glaucoma. Her special friend in later years was Forrest Hawk. She was the mother of 5 children.
