Pleasant Ephraim Goodall was born on the 7th of March in Yellville, Arkansas 1846. He was the son of Washington Joel Goodall and Caroline St. John. Pleasant had three wives total. His first wife was Harriet Williamson. They were married 1871 and had four children, John Warren, William Elijah, Alice Harriet and Margaret Jane. Shortly after Harriet died in 1880 he married Mary Hudson in 1881 and together they had two daughters, Oda Lucrecia, Nora Gazell. Mary Hudson passed in 1901 and Pleasant married his third wife Elizabeth Jane Moss in the year 1903. He had a total of eight children. The first child was my great great grandmother Mary Matilda Goodall who married James Cooper Hensley. Mary Matilda's mother passed away when she was still an infant and she was raised by her father's first wife, her stepmother Harriet Williamson. Pleasant passed away at the home of his daughter Oda Lucrecia in Jasper, Newton County, Arkansas 1932.

Pleasant took her in after the death of her mother during birth. She is often confused with Pleasant's oldest daughter Mary Matilda Goodall who was known by the nickname "Tildy". Tildy is 26 years older than her second cousin Mary Lillie. Mary Lillie was names after Mary Matilda"Tildy"and Tildy's first child Lillie Caroline, who passed away shortly after her first birthday in the year 1888. Mary Matilda "Tildy" Goodall was born in the year 1867 and was the daughter of Caroline Younger and Pleasant Goodall .Caroline's third child and Pleasant's first.
