One of Atmore's oldest residents died on Sunday at a local hospital when Mrs. Sarah Allen, aged 83 years, passed away. She was a member of the Atmore Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Allen is survived by the following near relatives: four daughters, Mrs. Alma Beck, Pensacola, Mrs. Emma Starkey, Bay Springs, Florida, Mrs. Alice J. Eisperman, Pensacola, and Mrs. J. W. Stewart, Robertsdale; four sons, Wade Allen, Duncanville, Lonnie Allen, Perdido, Bobbie Allen, Atmore, and Johnnie Allen, of Eufaw, Alabama; forty-four grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren. The funeral was held at Dry Springs on Monday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. with the Rev. R. S. Watson, officiating. Barton-Service had charge of the funeral arrangements.
