She was born March 9, 1911 in the Liberty-Ohio Community, the daughter of Jim (J.D.) and Louie Curlee Hedgepeth. She was married to Lawrence (Calvin) Perryman on December 11, 1932 in Liberty-Ohio. They lived in the same community all their lives. Jewel taught 5th grade in the Hamilton school sytem for many years. She was the last of nine children and was a member of the Purmela Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Anne Jones and husband Raymond of Purmela; granddaughters, Debra Leach of Hamilton, Jeanine Mensch and husband Trey of Purmela, Julie Farquhar and husband Mark of Lampasas; grandson, Mike Jones and wife Tara of Granbury; 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her sisters, Vivian Hartin, Gladys Stanford, Hallie Elam and Lennie Hedgpeth; brothers, James Elbert Hedgpeth, Armo Tye Hedgpeth and Kenneth David Hedgpeth.
