He was born Feb. 8, 1925 in Danville, son of Albert and Madge (Cramer) Schramm. He married A. Berniece Richter on May 27, 1944 in Danville. She preceded him in death Jan. 20, 1989. He later married Janet Bushue on Sept. 24, 2008 in Oakwood. She survives.
Also surviving are his daughter, Sue (Ed) Dole; two stepsons, Chris (Stephanie) Yates and Stephen Yates; his stepdaughters, Ramona (Ray) Murphy, Melissa (Victor) Rivera and Monica Hughes; a brother, Fred (Brownie) Schramm; a sister, Mildred (Harry) Read and 11 grandchildren.
Floyd was also preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda Jo Schramm and his brother, Albert Schramm.
Floyd graduated from Oakwood High School in 1943. He was a World War II veteran. Floyd worked as a pipe fitter at General Motors and retired in 1988 after 34 years of service.
He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed attending auctions and traveling. In earlier years he was an avid hunter and fisherman. Floyd was an avid gardener, wood worker and accomplished poet. He certainly adored his children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed.
