ROEBLING-Charles Y. Kniss, 77, of 59 Main Street, here, died Saturday in Rancocas Valley Hospital, Willingboro.
Mr. Kniss was a custodian at the Parkside Inn in Bordentown Township, and retired years ago from the maintenance department of the New Jersey Turnpike Authority. He was a past fire chief in Bordentown City and directed the Civil Defense Corps for the city. He was also a member of the New Jersey State Exempt Fireman's Association and was past president of the Burlington County Firemen's Association.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Helen Herrity Kniss; one step-son, Dennis W. Herrity, and one step-daughter, Mrs. Sally Warren both of Florence, and several nieces and nephews.
