In the 620-page genelogy book, "Solomon Geron and his Descendants 1761-1968", a copy of which is in the Tennessee State Library, well-researched and well-written by Jewell Daphne Gerron Woodard, Jewell states that Wallace "...was a kindly person, much like his father in statute and character...and lived quietly". He acquired the family farm and farmed on it most of his life, moving to Guntersville, AL, and later to Tullahoma, TN (to be near his grandddaughter, Lois) and McMinnville, TN, (to be near his daughter, Nora) after he retired. He constantly chewed "Red Mule" tobacco and died in a TB hospital near McMinnville, where his wife was also a patient. He died at the age of 80.
