Born in Danville, he retired as sergeant first class, E-7, from the U.S. Army. Following his retirement, he drove a fuel truck for E.M. Gray Oil Co. in Milford for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Diane J. Taylor; his mother, Frances Taylor of Danville; his son, James Taylor of Nevada; his daughter, Susan Taylor of Michigan; his sister, Linda Gibbs of Danville; and seven grandchildren.
A graveside service with military honors will be held Thursday, Oct. 16, at 10 a.m. in Quantico National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, on Wednesday, Oct. 15, from 6 to 8 p.m.
