He was a native of Gaston County, son of the late Vernon Livingston and Florence Allen Hinson, he was a retired textile worker and a veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict, serving in the 6th Armored Division of the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife Lillie Mae Hinson of Kings Mtn. son Eddie Hinson of Kings Mtn., daughter Lynn Stuart of Kings Mtn., step-son, Charles Benton of Gastonia; brothers, Fred Hinson and Curtis Hinson both of Kings Mtn.; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral: Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel with Rev James Lowery officiating.

Burial:Mountain Rest Cemetery
