She was a daughter of the late Samuel and Laura Rush Pursel. She had lived in Florida for the past year, moving there from Washington where she had lived for 12 years.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Washington, and Daughters of the American Revolution. She attended Trenton Normal School.
Her husband W. Raymond Hendershot, died Aug. 15, 1975.
Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Gumbs, Lighthouse Point.
