Mr. John Bedheimer, a well known resident of Frederick, died at the City Hospital last evening at 7.30 o'clock, of paralysis, aged 67 years and 18 days.
Mr. Bedheimer was born in Baltimore, October 20, 1842, and at the age of ten years came to this city. When a young man he entered the employ of the late John Schroedel, with whom he learned the trade of a baker, continuing in his employment until his death, and later with his son, Mr. Charles Schroedel, by whom he was employed for a number of years.
On February 28, 1864, he enlisted in Cole's Cavalry, and after serving sixteen months was mustered out on June 29, 1865. Until five years ago he had been spending the winters at the National Soldiers' Home at Dayton, Ohio. He had made his home with the Schroedel family for about 32 years. He was a member of Reynolds Post, No. 2, G.A.R., the Independent Hose Company and Grace Reformed church. He is survived by two brothers, Mr. Locke Bedheimer, of Dayton, Ohio, and Mr. George Bedheimer, of this city.
The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock from the home of Mr. Charles F. Schroedel, East Patrick street. Services will be held at the house and interment will be made in Mount Olivet cemetery. The funeral will be in charge of Reynolds post.
