Ona Bryan, age 83, a resident of Dardanelle, died Monday, March 31, 2003, at her home. She was born March 31, 1920, at Foss, Oklahoma, a daughter of the late Samuel Fleming and Addie Bell Stone Whittenberg. She was a member of the Arkansas River Valley Arts & Crafts Club; past president of the Southern California Women's Bowling Association; former Girl Scouts leader in California; member of American War Mothers; and she loved bowling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Dayton Bryan; 2 brothers, Heskel and Elvis Whittenberg.

Survivors include 2 sons, Sammy Lee Smith of Abilene, Texas and James Louis Bryan of LaPalma, California; 3 daughters, Norma J. Kassaw of Dardanelle, Leona F. Riser of Hendersonville, Tennessee, and Joyce R. Decent of San Bernardino, California; a sister, Audrey Vest of Sonora, California; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2003, at the Shinn Chapel with Mr. Bryan Glock officiating. Burial will be in the Baker's Creek Cemetery at Russellville under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.

Pallbearers will be sons and grandsons.

Visitation will be 7 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at the funeral home.
