Born December 31,1848 in Pomerania ,the son of Christian William and Johanna (Krekow) Beske. He immigrated to the United States at the age of 19 from Bremen, Germany aboard the ship “Weser” landing at the port of New York on April 19, 1869. His parents and his brother Frederick and his sister Fredericke Griesbach and her husband Wilhelm immigrated with him aboard the same ship. They all moved to and settled in Wood County, Wisconsin.
He moved from Wood County to Dodge County and lived in Horicon, Iron Ridge, Lomira and in 1894 moved to Burnett Township. He married Augusta Bertha Beske in 1871. They had 10 children , 6 boys and 4 girls. He died December 28, 1938 at the home of his daughter Mrs. Paul Hoefs in Burnett, Dodge County, Wisconsin.
