LONG SUFFERING OVER
Dr. Wyatt E. Ralston Dies After Ten Months Illness From Strange Disease
~SPECIALISTS COULDN'T HELP
Former Teacher in Country Schools of Hancock County – Taught in Washington State College
~After an illness of ten months from infectious militis, Dr. Wyatt E. Ralston died Thursday afternoon at his home, rear of 511 North Main street. He was stricken in Pullman, Wash., last February and was confined to his bed up to the time of his death. Before being brought to Ohio, he was treated by some of the best specialists in Washington, but the disease never yielded to treatment. He was brought to the home of his father-in-law, John Tarbutton, of Lima, in June and later to Findlay; local physicians attended to him throughout his sickness, but like the others could give him no relief.
Born in Hancock County.
~Dr. Ralston was 36 years old and was born and reared in Jackson township. He was the son of Lafayette and Martha Ralson and before entering college he was an active teacher in the rural schools of this county. He was graduated from the Ohio State university in 1904 in the department of veterinary science and immediately began the practice of medicine in Findlay, at the same time conducting a livery and sales stable in the rear of the American Express office. A year later he secured a position in the Washington state college and at the time of his death he was a member of the faculty and held professor of physiology, pathology and bacteriology.
~ Married Findlay Teacher
In 1906, Dr. Ralston was united in marriage with Miss Grace Tarbutton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Tarbutton. She was a teacher in the Findlay public schools. They returned to their western home and resided there until last spring.
~Dr. Ralston is survived by his widow, two children, father and mother, one brother, T. F. Ralston, Jackson township, and a sister, Mrs. Stella Eagle of this city.
~The funeral will be held at 1:30 o'clock Saturday at the United Presbyterian church. Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery.
