A deep sorrow was thrown over this entire community on last Wednesday eve by the sudden death from heart disease of Mrs. Betty Maphis who was much respected and loved by all who know her. Her presence will be missed -- not only by her relatives but all her friends to whom she endeared herself by kind, cheerful and sympathetic disposition. We learn that her only child at home, Miss Lillie Will will make her future home with her brother, Mr. Luther Maphis of Winchester, Va.
