News reached here this morning of the death from heart failure of our old citizen, Mr. Eli Beckner. The citizens of Brice beg to extend sympathy to the family. Mr. Beckner died while on his way home from Mrs. T.J. Devere's where he had been for some corn. His wife's son, about 14 years old, was with him".
"Died on Monday, March 18, at his home in Spring Hollow Township, of heart disease, Mr. Eli Beckner, aged 65 years. Interment was Tuesday at Flatwoods graveyard".
