DANNER, Susie Mae Henderson, 88, left precious memories for her loved ones to cherish as she established her new home in Heaven on Saturday morning, October 18, 2008. She took a new body that is no longer in pain, and went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Now she sits at the feet of Jesus enjoying all of His glory! We will miss her very much, but rejoice that she is now in the presence of our Lord. God said, ''Well done my child, come on home.'' 2 Timothy 4, 6-9. ''For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand, I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.'' Mrs. Danner was born in Banks (Enon Community), Pike County, Alabama on February 12, 1920, daughter of the late Oscar George Henderson and Ella Elizabeth Stewart Henderson. She was a member of East Memorial Baptist Church and a former member of Emmanuel Baptist and Snowdoun Baptist Churches. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In 1978, she retired from H. L. Green (McCrory & McClellan) with 26 years of service. She was active with the Maxwell Federal Prison Ministry for many years. Besides her parents and the father of her daughters, Jesse Ralph (Pop) Danner; she was preceded in death by a sister, Cora Estelle Bell; a brother, Aron Oscar Henderson, and a great grandchild, Jeremy Michael Bittner. Survivors include her three daughters, Elaine (George) Bridge of Remington, VA; SMSgts (Ret) Wanda (Gary) Mehlhoff of Millbrook, AL; and Peggy Danner (Fiancee Andy Hitt) of Meridian Mississippi; and her adopted grandson, Gary Danner, Columbiana, AL, eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren; two brothers: Willie Henderson, Banks, and Edward Henderson, Jacksonville, AL; and one sister, Ethel Lee Cook, Smiths, AL. She was the epitome of Proverbs 31, ''the virtuous woman.'' Her greatest desire was to see all her descendants saved and serving the Lord.
